Acceptable Use and Gifting Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
A gift should be something the other person is glad to receive. Quiet Rose lets you send one knowing only an email address, and that places a real responsibility on the person who orders. This policy sets out how the gifting service may and may not be used, how to report a problem, and what we may do about misuse. It forms part of the Terms of Sale and applies to everyone who places an order.
1. The principles behind this policy
The service rests on a few simple ideas. The rules below are simply these ideas applied to particular situations.
- A gift is an offer and can always be declined, without explanation.
- The recipient’s address, phone number and choices belong to the recipient.
- A refusal, or silence, is an answer and should be respected.
- No one should be frightened, pressured or misled by something sent through the shop.
2. Who you may send a gift to
Please enter only the email address of someone you know, in good faith, and only if you have an honest reason to think that the gift will be welcome. The shop is not a way to make contact with a stranger, a public figure you do not know or someone who has asked you to leave them alone.
You must have come by the address legitimately. Please do not use an address that was found through a data leak, harvested from a website or obtained by a trick.
Do not use the shop to contact a child with whom you have no legitimate family or similar relationship. A gift for a child should be arranged with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
3. Prohibited conduct
You must not use the shop, or try to use it, for any of the following.
- To harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate or pressure anyone, or to contact a person who has told you not to contact them, including where a court order or similar measure applies.
- To find out, confirm or guess where someone lives or works, what their phone number is or what they are doing on a particular day.
- To monitor a person, for example by using order updates to learn whether someone is active or is receiving messages.
- To send a gift as a form of demand, or to imply that the recipient owes you anything because of it.
- To retry after a gift has been declined or blocked, whether by changing the sender name, using another email address, or asking someone else to order for you.
- To send repeated invitations that the recipient has not answered.
- To pay with a card you are not entitled to use, or to place an order as part of any fraud, scheme or attempt to move money.
- To resell the gifting service, or to send invitations in bulk for advertising or for any commercial purpose.
- To place orders through automated means.
- To abuse or threaten the florists, the couriers or anyone else involved in carrying out an order.
4. Sender names
The sender name is up to 60 characters and appears in the invitation exactly as you type it. A first name or a nickname is enough, and you do not have to give your full name. But the recipient relies on it when deciding what to do, so it must not mislead.
You must not use a name that suggests that you are someone else, including another real person, a relative, an employer, an organisation or a public authority. You must not use a sender name to carry a message, a threat or a link. We do not verify sender names as a matter of routine, and this does not make a misleading name acceptable.
5. Notes
You are responsible for your note. It goes with the gift, so those who prepare and deliver the order may see it. Notes must not contain any of the following.
- Threats, harassment, or abusive, hateful or degrading language.
- Sexually explicit content, or any sexual content concerning a minor.
- Personal information about the recipient or someone else that is meant to frighten or embarrass, such as an address or details of a person’s movements.
- Demands for money, for a reply or for a meeting.
- Advertising, links or instructions intended to lead the recipient to another service.
- Anything else that is unlawful or infringes someone’s rights.
6. Respecting the recipient’s privacy
You will never be shown the recipient’s address or phone number, and you are not shown the day chosen before delivery. If the gift does not go ahead, you are told only that it could not be delivered. These are design choices, not obstacles to overcome.
Please do not ask couriers, florists or us for those details, or try to find them out by placing test orders or by being nearby on or around a delivery. We will not provide them. Our answer will be the same whoever asks and whatever reason is given, except where the law requires a disclosure to a competent authority.
7. Repeat gifts
There is nothing wrong with sending flowers to the same person more than once, as long as the gifts are welcome. Each order is a separate invitation, and the recipient can answer each one differently. If a recipient declines, or if orders come back as undeliverable, please take that as your answer rather than trying again. Repeated orders to someone who does not respond may lead us to refuse further orders for that address, and we would refund you in full if we did.
8. Orders that are not for personal gift-giving
The limits on an order are 10 lines, with a quantity of up to 5 on each line, and 3000 US dollars in total. If you have a genuine reason for a larger order, or for sending several gifts as part of an occasion, please write to us first, and we will tell you whether we can help. Every recipient keeps the same right to decline.
9. What we check and what we do not
We cannot verify who controls an email address, or what relationship exists between a buyer and a recipient. We do not routinely investigate either. Equally, we cannot promise that every misuse will be noticed. Our protection for recipients comes mainly from the way the service is built: nothing is delivered unless the recipient accepts, and the buyer does not see the address.
We do read notes and sender names when an order is prepared or when a concern is raised, because the note has to go with the gift. If a note or a name breaches this policy, we may decline to reproduce it.
10. What we may do about misuse
If we have reason to believe that this policy has been breached, or that a gift is unwanted by the recipient, we may take any of the steps below, depending on the seriousness of the matter.
- Ask you for more information or ask you to change a note or a sender name.
- Refuse or cancel an order before delivery.
- Refuse further orders from you, or further orders for a particular recipient.
- Add a recipient’s address to the block list at that recipient’s request.
- Keep what is reasonably needed to deal with the matter, as the Privacy Policy allows.
- Report the matter to the competent authorities where that is appropriate or legally required.
10.1 Your money
We do not charge fines or fees for a breach of this policy, and we do not keep the price of an undelivered gift. If we cancel an order before delivery, you are refunded in full to the original card, including any tip. You will be told that the gift could not be delivered. We may not give any further reason where that could expose or endanger a recipient.
10.2 If you think we have made a mistake
You can write to support@quietroseproject.com, and we will look at the matter again. Please see Complaints and Disputes. Your legal rights remain unaffected by anything in this policy.
11. How to report a concern
Anyone may report a concern to support@quietroseproject.com. It helps if you can include the date of the email, the sender name shown and a short description. You do not need to know the order number. A recipient can also decline and block future gifts on the private page, as the Notice to Gift Recipients explains.
We treat reports from recipients with care, and we will not tell the buyer that a report has been made. We reply within 2 business days. If you believe that you are in immediate danger, please contact the local emergency services or the police rather than writing to us.
12. The site in general
This policy concerns the gifting service. The rules for the Site as a whole, including those on security and automated access, are set out in the Website Terms of Use. Questions about either can be sent through the contact page.
