Book Contribution Terms
Last updated: 3 November 2026
You can choose to support the book Quiet Rose with a voluntary contribution. These terms explain what such a contribution is and, just as importantly, what it is not. Please read them before you contribute. A contribution buys nothing and is not a charity donation. It is a voluntary payment to help with a project that has a planned publication date but no guarantee.
1. The main points in brief
These points summarise the terms that follow. The detail applies if the two ever seem to differ.
- Contributions are voluntary and are separate from any order.
- You can choose 10, 20, 50 or 100 US dollars, paid by card through Stripe.
- They help pay for writing time, editing and printing of the book Quiet Rose.
- Publication is planned for 19 October 2027. This is a plan, not a promise.
- They buy no product, give no right over the book and are not charity donations.
- A contribution made by mistake is refunded if you request it within 14 days.
2. Who receives your contribution
Contributions are received by the private individual trading as Quiet Rose, and not by a company. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that person, and “you” means the person making the contribution. You can reach us at support@quietroseproject.com, and we reply within 2 business days.
You must be 18 or over to make a contribution, and you must be entitled to use the card you pay with.
3. What a contribution is for
A contribution helps pay for writing time, editing and printing of the book Quiet Rose. It is general support for the project, not a payment for a particular stage or a particular cost, and you cannot direct how it is used.
4. The publication plan
The book is planned for publication on 19 October 2027. That date is a plan, not a promise. Writing, editing and printing can all take longer than expected, and the book may be published later, in another form, or not at all. The content, title and format of the book may also change.
Please contribute only if you are comfortable with that uncertainty. A change to the plan does not by itself entitle you to a refund, although any right that mandatory law gives you remains in place.
5. What a contribution does not give you
So that there is no misunderstanding, a contribution does not do any of the following.
- It does not buy a product or service. You are not entitled to a copy of the book, a signed copy, an early copy or a discount.
- It gives no right over the book. You do not gain any copyright, licence, share of income, editorial say or right to be named.
- It is not an investment and carries no return of any kind.
- It is not a charity donation. Quiet Rose is not a charity, and we do not issue donation receipts. We make no statement about any tax treatment.
- It does not affect any order. It brings no discount or priority, and it is not a tip or part of the price of any gift.
- It does not give you access to any content or service, and it entitles you to nothing beyond what is stated in these terms.
6. Separate from orders
Contributions are separate from orders. They are made on their own, through their own payment, and have their own reference number. Nothing is delivered, and no recipient is involved. Refunds of orders and refunds of contributions follow different rules, and the Refund Policy applies to orders.
7. How to contribute
You choose an amount of 10, 20, 50 or 100 US dollars, give your email address, confirm that you understand that this is a voluntary contribution, and pay by card on a page run by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. Your statement will show a name such as QUIET ROSE or QUIETROSE, and your bank may show a converted amount.
Each contribution is a single payment. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal, and you will never be charged again unless you choose to contribute again. If you leave the payment page without paying, nothing is taken, and the unpaid record is deleted after about two days. Once payment is confirmed, we email you a confirmation.
8. Refunds
If you made a contribution by mistake, write to support@quietroseproject.com or reply to your confirmation email within 14 days of the payment, and we will refund it. Mistakes can include a wrong amount, an accidental second payment, or a contribution made under the misunderstanding that it would buy a product.
The refund goes to the original card and usually appears within 5 to 10 business days. Refunds are made in US dollars, so the amount shown in your own currency may differ slightly because of your bank’s conversion rate.
Beyond that, contributions are not refundable, except where mandatory law says otherwise. You are also free to contact your bank about any payment that you do not recognise or did not authorise.
9. Your data
We use your email address to send your confirmation and to handle any refund. It is erased about 30 days after the contribution has been handled, and accounting records are kept as long as the law requires. Stripe processes the payment under the arrangements described in the Privacy Policy. We will not add you to any mailing list or send you marketing without your consent.
10. Responsibility and limits
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. To the extent the law allows, our total liability in connection with a contribution is limited to the amount you contributed.
Mandatory consumer rights of your country remain unaffected, and nothing in these terms removes them.
11. Changes and general terms
We may update these terms, and the date of the latest version appears on this page. The version that applies to your contribution is the one in force when you made it. We may also stop accepting contributions at any time. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest continues to apply.
These terms are governed by the law of the seller’s place of business, without removing the mandatory protections of the country where you live or any right you have to bring proceedings there. They do not require arbitration. The English version prevails if versions differ, without affecting any right mandatory law may give you. If you have a problem, please see Complaints and Disputes or use the contact page.
