Cookies and Browser Storage Notice
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This notice explains what the Quiet Rose website stores on your device and what third parties may see when you visit. The short answer is that we use no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics tools. Your cart is kept in your own browser, and it is not sent to us until you decide to place an order. The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled more generally.
1. Cookies and browser storage, in plain terms
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to keep, and that the browser sends back to the website on later visits. Cookies are often used to recognise a person from one visit to the next, and sometimes to follow them across different websites.
Browser storage works differently. Local storage and session storage let a page keep information inside your browser. That information stays on your device and is not sent to the website automatically. Local storage lasts until it is cleared. Session storage normally lasts only until you close the tab.
2. What we do not use
We do not use any of the following on the Site.
- Advertising cookies or advertising identifiers.
- Tracking cookies, or anything meant to follow you across other websites.
- Analytics tools that measure individual visitors.
- Social media buttons or trackers.
3. What is kept in your browser
The shop keeps a small amount of information in your browser so that it can work. None of it is advertising or tracking. You will find these items under the names shown below if you inspect your browser’s storage.
3.1 Your cart, in local storage
The item named qr-panier holds the products, sizes and quantities in your cart, so that the cart is still there if you close the page and come back. It stays in your browser until you remove the items, your payment is confirmed or you clear your browser’s data. It is sent to us only when you go ahead with an order.
3.2 The chat window, in session storage
The item named qr-assistant keeps your conversation in the chat window, so that it follows you from page to page. It stays in your browser until you close the tab.
3.3 Your draft order, in session storage
The item named qr-brouillon keeps what you have typed in the order form, so that you do not lose it if you move between pages. That can include the recipient’s first name and email address, your note, your sender name and your email address. It stays in your browser and normally disappears when you close the tab. It is also cleared once your payment has been confirmed.
3.4 Your order in progress, in session storage
The item named qr-commande-en-cours holds the number of the order you are paying for, so that the Site can tidy up the draft once payment is confirmed. It normally disappears when you close the tab.
3.5 If you share a device
Anyone using the same browser profile can see the cart, and may see a draft order if the tab is still open. On a shared device, it is a good idea to close the tab when you finish and to clear the cart if you wish to keep it private.
4. What third parties may see or set
A few outside services are involved when you use the Site. These are the only ones, and each is described here.
4.1 Google Fonts
The fonts on the Site are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when a page loads. The Site does not send it any information about your cart or your order.
4.2 Cloudflare
Cloudflare hosts the Site and therefore handles technical data about each request, including your IP address. Like other hosts, it may provide aggregate traffic and security figures to the site owner, and it may set a short-lived, strictly necessary security cookie to protect the Site from automated abuse. We do not use any of this to follow individual visitors.
4.3 Stripe
When you pay, you leave the Site for a payment page run by Stripe. Stripe may use cookies and similar technology on that page, for example to process the payment securely and to prevent fraud. Stripe’s own privacy and cookie notices apply to that page.
5. Private links are not cookies
Your Order Page and a recipient’s Private Page are opened through a private link in an email. The link itself carries what is needed to open the page, so no cookie or login is involved. Please keep such links private, because anyone who has one can open the page. Your browser’s history may also keep these links, so you may want to clear it on a shared device.
6. Your choices
You can view and clear cookies, local storage and session storage through your browser’s settings, usually in the section on privacy or site data. Doing so removes your cart and any draft order from that browser. It does not affect an order you have already paid for, which you can still follow through the link in your email.
You can also set your browser to block storage or cookies. If you block browser storage, the shop can still work, but your cart may be lost when you reload or leave the page. Blocking Google Fonts means that the Site is displayed in another font. If you block what Stripe needs, you may not be able to complete a payment.
Because we do not track you, signals such as “Do Not Track” do not change how the Site behaves.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Ukraine’s personal data law or the Philippine Data Privacy Act may give you rights over personal data, including any held in connection with your visit. The Privacy Policy explains these rights and how to exercise them.
8. Changes to this notice
If what the Site stores or loads changes, we will update this notice. The date of the latest version appears on this page. If we ever wish to use advertising or tracking technology, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it, and we will describe the change here beforehand.
9. How to contact us
If you have a question about this notice, please write to Quiet Rose, at support@quietroseproject.com, or use the contact page. We reply within 2 business days.
